Hold the phone: ‘Pleasant surprise’ Brock Osweiler may be Browns’ best bet at QB

Brock Osweiler endured a disaster of a season last year with the Texans.

In fact, Houston, the team that agreed to sign him to a massive free-agent contract before the 2016 season, soured on him so much that they desperately traded him to Cleveland earlier this year to dump his contract.

It was then assumed the Browns would trade Osweiler or cut him outright. But the disgraced signal-caller has surprisingly stuck around, and may now be contending for a starting spot.

“Brock’s been a pleasant surprise,” Browns coach Hue Jackson said Wednesday, via Ohio.com. “He’s done a good job. He works hard at it every day. He’s into it. I think he really enjoys being here. I think [quarterbacks] coach [David] Lee’s done a great job with him. I think he’s really meshed with the other quarterbacks. So he has a good feel to him.”

Osweiler was painfully bad last season, completing just 59 percent of his passes for a pedestrian 2,957 yards, 15 touchdowns and 16 interceptions. He even somehow made wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins look average.

But that was last year. Now, Osweiler has a chance to Liverpool Cheap Jerseys shine in a new uniform.
