Don’t want to get suspended for a month?

Off-speed stuff? Hogwash. Nothing says pace like throwing 98-mph heaters on the black all game. Seeing a changeup doesn’t excite me. Seeing the ball get from A to B as fast as possible does. Just think of all the time it’ll save.

Don’t want to get suspended for a month? It’s an incredibly easy suspension to avoid. Don’t elevate a purpose pitch. See? Simple.

Not every player has who has been hit with a pitch in the head was hit intentionally, of course. On rare occasions, pitches really do get away and accidents happen. So MLB should put together a special panel of former players and baseball front-office types — with representation from the MLBPA, too — and let them determine which pitchers get suspended based on an investigation. Let’s be honest: It wouldn’t be too difficult to figure out the cases of retaliation.

And let the panel err on the side of handing out a suspension, because here’s a truth: I would rather see 10 pitchers wrongly suspended for a month than have one hitter’s career ended with a fastball that hits him in the eye.

It’s about baseball’s priorities, really.

When Derek Jeter’s No. 2 jersey gets officially retired before the Yankees’ game Cheap Atlanta Braves Jerseys against the Astros on Sunday night, it will be a monumental moment for Monument Park. It means that no current or future Yankee can sport a number from No. 1 to 9 on his nameless pinstriped or grey back ever again.

Jeter will be the last of those all-time great Bronx Bombers to be honored that way, but Basketball Cheap Jerseys he’s certainly not the least. In a group of four outfielders, two catchers, two managers and a first baseman, Jeter will be the first and only single-digit shortstop to earn the Yankees’ ultimate individual tribute.
