Home » Nike NFL Jerseys » As he tries to trade Carmelo Anthony, Phil Jackson must regret missed opportunity

Truth is, Phil Jackson always knew he’d wind up at this point. Think back to Jackson’s first months on the job with the Knicks, in 2014, when Carmelo Anthony was scheduled to hit free agency. Jackson asked Anthony to forgo his immediate free agency and instead opt in for the final year of his contract. That would allow the Knicks more salary-cap wiggle room in 2015, but Jackson’s real motivation was to size up whether the Knicks should carry on with Anthony as the featured player.

Anthony did opt out and, despite flirtations with several teams, re-signed in New York for five years and $124 million. But even at the time, some within the organization felt that Jackson would have been happier had Anthony agreed to sign elsewhere, that he was uncomfortable with starting his tenure running the team with such a big commitment to Anthony.

But football finance expert Dr. Rob Wilson has a solution for PSG if they really want Neymar.

“What you tend to find is when clubs buy a player — for large amounts or small — they will stagger these payments over a course of a contract,” Wilson said, via BBC Sport.

“Let’s assume PSG pay £200 million for Neymar and he signs a 10-year contract — they will pay £20 million per year to Barcelona. Of course, the selling club has to agree to that length of time.

“You expect there to be a decent upfront payment though. When Cristiano Ronaldo signed for Real Madrid from Manchester United for £80m in 2009, the English club demanded the fee was paid in full before it was allowed to happen.

“Regarding Neymar, I think you’ll probably see a substantial initial payment — let’s say £100 million — and a couple of payments afterwards to make the balance.”

So, now that it’s established there is a way for both players to move, it boils Order Cheap Jerseys down to whether or not the two players really want the switch, and if the teams they currently play for NFL Jerseys 2014 are willing to pull the trigger.
